KARDEMİR A.Ş., one of the leading companies of Karabük’s industrial landscape and Türkiye’s iron and steel sector, has bestowed the title of “Honorary Chairman of KARDEMİR” upon Mr. Kamil Güleç, Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Executive Board of Çağ Çelik and founder of our company, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the company’s institutional heritage, industrial vision and sustainable development.

At the ceremony held pursuant to the decision of the KARDEMİR A.Ş. Board of Directors dated 21 May 2026, the Honorary Chairmanship Certificate was presented to Mr. Kamil Güleç by Mr. Muhammed Ali Oflaz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KARDEMİR.

Mr. Güleç’s journey with KARDEMİR dates back to one of the most critical periods in Karabük’s industrial history. In 1994, while serving as Chairman of the Karabük Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he stood alongside the people of Karabük and factory employees in a historic struggle against the decision to shut down the Karabük Iron and Steel Works. During the privatization process, he assumed the role of Chairman of the Entrepreneurial Committee and became one of the founding partners of KARDEMİR A.Ş., which was reborn in 1995.

Over the 32-year period since privatization, Mr. Güleç served as a Member of the Board of Directors, Vice Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Board, playing a significant role in the company’s development and becoming one of the strongest representatives of its institutional memory.
